Funeral services will be held at 3:30 o'clock Friday afternoon from the Hardy Funeral Home. Rev. E. K. Means, pastor of Galloway Memorial church, will conduct the obsequies and interment will be in Greenwood cemetery, where her body will be laid to rest beside that of her husband, the late Steve Offutt, who died years ago. Mrs. Offutt was 53 years of age and was a resident of Jackson for very many years, until about three years ago, when she removed to Hattiesburg, where she accepted a position with one of the big colleges. She returned to Jackson about three months ago, when she first was taken ill, and although she received the tenderest and most watchful care and attention, the end could not be averted and she fell into the final sleep last night. She is survived by two brothers and two sisters, all residents of Tennessee, and by an adopted daughter only 13 years of age. She was a member of Galloway Memorial Methodist Church here, and had a wide circle of friends who were saddened at the news of her death."
