Wood of Jeannette, Pa. November 30, 1935. She had been a resident of Naples for 27 years, but also maintained residences in Chautauqua, N.Y. and, until recently, in Elmira, N.Y. At Chautauqua, she was a graduate of the Chautauqua literary and Scientific Society, and was one of the founders and past president of the Chautauqua Opera Guild. Mrs. Wood is survived by five children, Arch K. Wood of Asheville, N.C., Susan O. Wood of Baco Grande, Fla., Richard O. Wood of Lake Forest, Ill., Elizabeth B. Wood of Denver, Colo. and Victoria W. DeBoest of Chicago, Ill.; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Wood in 1976; her eldest son, William A. Wood Jr. in 1989; and her granddaughter, Karen Lynn Wood in 1991. No services will be held in Naples. A memorial service will be held over the July 4th weekend, 1997, at the family's summer home in Chautauqua, N.Y. ln lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions in Betty's name be made to the Chautauqua Foundation of Chautauqua, N.Y. 14722 or to Hospice of Naples, 1095 Whippoorwill il lane, Naples, Fla., 34105.”.
