Lafayette County Probate Court (vol. C, page 459)
In vacation June 13th A.D. 1856 ordered that Stephen G. Wentworth Public Administrator for Lafayette County be required to take charge of the estate of Warren Offutt deceased and administer the same according to law.
Edward Stratton, Judge
The above was the first page I found that indicates that Warren Offutt was deceased. No where does it say what day he died, but probably died several months earlier in 1856 or maybe the end of 1855. Land was sold to pay his debts. He had lots in the city of Lexington, Missouri as well as a small amount of land. Also a slave named Jack, 8 years old, was sold at public auction.
