Goes on to state that William and Hannah had 3 children. This obviously contradicts a bride named Verlinda so the reference has been removed from the marriage tag for Verlinda Beall.
  5. [S2] Nelle (Offutt) Chesley, The Offutt Family, Book II, Pg. 67. Referenced "Beall Families" by Colonel Fielder M. M. Beall, 1926 page 104. John Beall 1688-1742 married 1712 Verlinda Magruder, 1690/8-1745, daughter of Samuel Magruder and Sarah Beall. Goes further to list the issue of John Beall and Verlinda; Hannah Beall, b 1729 is listed as marrying William Offutt Sr. and Verlinda Beall is listed as marrying Thomas Beall (1744-1823) in 1764. He is listed as her nephew. States also that as of 1978 no documentary proof has been found that Hannah Beall did in fact marry William Offutt Sr. This would contradict a bride named Verlinda so the reference has been removed from the marriage tag for Verlinda Beall.
  6. [S75] Letter, Roberta Hull to David W. Offutt, Letter dated January 22, 1996; states that the listing of F. M. M. Beall for the family of John Beall and his wife Verlinda (nee Magruder) which states that daughter Verlinda married her nephew Thomas Beall isn't correct. Thomas, according to Roberta married his first cousin, daughter of Josias, as proved by the will of Josias Jr., in which he willed to the children of his sister Verlinda and her husband Thomas. She goes on to state that Verlinda Beall, daughter of John Beall was in fact "available" to marry William Offutt Sr.
The Offutt's didn't know that Hannah had married William Beall so she wasn't "available " to marry William Offutt. Sr.

Rachel Beall was born.2 She married James Offutt, son of William Offutt and Mary Brock, circa 1722; Date could possibly be 1725.2 As of circa 1722,her married name was Offutt.2 Rachel Offutt was found on July 13, 1725 in the property records when William Offutt Sr and William Offutt Jr conveyed the property tract named William & James to James Offutt (listed as the son of William Sr and the brother of William Jr) and his wife Rachel Offutt on July 13, 1725.3 She died circa 1740.2 Rachel is traditionally listed as a daughter of Ninian Beall, no proof listed. Mrs. Roberta Hull believes that Rachel was a daughter of Col. Ninian Beall and wife Ruth Moore. In a book called "Waters and Allied Families" by Allen it states that Rachel Beall, daughter of Ninian Beall married Offutt (pg. 188). In the Maryland Genealogical Society Bulletin, Summer 1979 issue on pg. 216 has that Rachel married James Offutt, son of William. Changed this woman to be Ninian's daughter.4
