Additional evidence of this is found in a newspaper article dated February 5, 1889 in The Courier-Journal on page 6 where it states that Mrs. Julia A. Offutt, by her will of March 4, 1888 leaves to her daughter Nannie R. Starr, all her estate, the other two children having a competency from their father's estate. I would assume the "other two children" are John T. and Juliet Offutt (9841_MrsJuliaAOffutt_Estate_The_Courier_Journal_Tue_Feb_5_1889_Pg6.jpg) The possible Jenkins connection would make sense as 3 of the people in attendance at the Offutt/Starr wedding were Jenkins.

Lloyd Offutt was born in the city of Baltimore, Md., on the 4th day of March, 1813. At the age of seven years he removed to Scott county, Ky., with his parents, where he resided until October 1846, when he removed to Greenfield, Ind., at which place he continued to reside until his death, which occurred at his late residence on Bradley street, in this city, on Sunday morning, May 20th, at 9 o'clock. On the 18th day of December, 1833, Mr. Offutt was married to Elizabeth Offutt with whom he continued to live until his death. In his younger days he learned the carpenter's trade, and followed this vocation for many years, both in Kentucky and this city. Several years ago he gave up his business as carpenter, and was afterwards engaged in various occupations. About five years ago he retired from all active business, and since that time has lived a quiet life, surrounded by his family and friends who knew him best and loved him most. Shortly after the breaking out of the war Mr. Offutt enlisted as a soldier in Company G, Fifth Indiana Cavalry, with which command he served for a year, when he was discharged on account of disabilities which untited (sic) him the for the hardships of a soldier's life. He was twice elected a member of the Common Council of the city of Greenfield, in which capacity he served his city with the same honesty and fidelity that marked all his transactions during his long and busy life. Mr. Offutt was the father of ten children, six of whom still survive him, viz: Mariah J. Barnett, wife of Esquire George Barnett, Thomas H. Offutt, Margaret Price, Louisa Taylor, Charles G. Offutt and California Beecher. He was throughout his long life an industrious, hard working man. Many of the public and private improvements of this city and vicinity stand as monuments to his industry. He was a kind father, a faithful and loving husband, a good citizen and an accommodating neighbor. He had a cheerful disposition and an open heart. He was preeminently a just man. He hated dishonesty in any form, and he died owing no man anything. He still lives in the hearts of his family and his friends, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him. He was an honest nan, and died as one might wish to die. God's finger touched him and he slept. May he rest in peace."

Taylor was born in Lancaster county, Pennsylvania, May 6, 1838, and died at his late residence, 147 Daugherty street, Indianapolis, Nov. 19, 1894, aged 56 years, 6 months and 13 days. His early life was passed in Pennsylvania and Ohio. He was a soldier in the late war, being a member of Company A, 13th Ohio infantry. In early life he learned the carpenter trade and followed that vocation until the day of his death, which was the result of an injury received on the Saturday before while working at his trade. On may (sic) 30, 1873, he was united in marriage to Miss Louisa M. Offutt, daughter of Lloyd and Elizabeth Offutt, and sister of Maria J. Barnett, Margaret Price, California Beecher, Thomas H. Offutt and Charles G. Offutt. As the fruit of their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Taylor had born to them five children, three of whom preceded him to the land beyond the river. He leaves a wife, Louisa M. Taylor, and two interesting children, Lloyd, aged 17 years and Effie, aged 10 years. Mr. Taylor was a good husband and kind father. He was ever ready and willing to assist those about him, and in many ways gave to his friends the highest evidences of a kind, true-hearted gentleman and his memory will be cherished by them as a priceless legacy. His death is another evidence of the uncertainty life and the certainty of death. Truly, human life hangs on an uncertain and slender thread. Let us hope that after life's fitful fever he sleeps well. Funeral services were held at his late home in Indianapolis conducted by Rev. Turney, of the Sixth Christian church, after which the remains were brought to this city and taken to the residence of Judge Offutt. Services were also held at the latter place yesterday afternoon conducted by Rev. Daily, of the Christian church this city. The interment was in Park cemetery where he was laid by the side of his three deceased children."
