    Until poor health forced him to retire, Mr. Offutt had worked for James Keelty & Co. in Timonium.
    He was a former firefighter with the Cockeysville Volunteer Fire Department. He also volunteered with the 5th District Recreation Council in Northern Baltimore County and often coached his sons' basketball and Little League teams.
    Mr. Offutt was born in Cockeysville, graduated from Towson High School, served in the army in Korea, and was a member of the American Legion Post in Parkton.
    A memorial service was to be conducted at 11 a.m. today at Sherwood Episcopal Church, Sherwood and York roads in Cockeysville.
    Survivors include his wife of 41 years, the former Roberta Ensor; two sons, Barry C. Offutt of Butler and Joshua F. C. Offutt III of Reisterstown; a daughter, Laura A. Harting of Parkton; a sister, Virginia Risteau Lyon of Cockeysville; a brother, Noah E. Offutt of Cockeysville; and eight grandchildren."
