The body was taken to Cross Funeral Home where services will be at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, with the Rev. Esmond Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park with members of the Euclid Lodge conducting masonic rites.

Offutt, 2408 Brookside parkway. Before the invasion Sergt. Offutt's group bombed railway yards, air fields, robot bomb installations in the Pas de Calais area, and vital bridges. After the invasion he was based in France and few missions against many German targets. For achievements on the many missions in which he participated, Sergt. Offutt holds the silver star, distinguished flying cross, air medal with two silver and one oak leaf cluster and the purple heart. He was wounded in May by flak when his plane was blown out from under the crew. They bailed out over the channel and were picked up by air-sea rescue boats. This was Sergt. Offutt's 53d mission, and after recuperating in a hospital in England he returned to his group to finish his run. In the main, he said, the medium bombers had targets not too far inland, and "we would be in and out again before fighter planes could jump us." He was overseas 18 months and has been in the army four and one-half years."
