He had been dead several hours and it is believed that a heart attack was the cause. Mr. Offutt was born in Shelbyville. When a young man he was a reporter for The Courier-Journal and later for fifteen years was traveling representative of the circulation department of The Courier-Journal. He had been with the Inter-Southern Life lnsurance Company sixteen years. His widow, Mrs. Luriline Longsley Waddington Offutt, a daughter, Miss Marie Lilliam Offutt, New York. and a brother, William Offutt, Louisville, survive.
