Offutt Sr. was born on October 4, 1759.2 He was born on October 25, 1759 at MD, USA.3 He was born on October 25, 1759 at GA, USA.4 He was born in 1760 at GA, USA.5,6 He began military service as a Refugee Soldier in the Refugee Regiment circa 1776 at GA, USA, service proven by Warrant 1373; a Refugee Soldier in the Refugee Regiment, service proven by Warrant 1373.7,8 He married Obedience Jones, daughter of John Jones and Susanna Margaret Strobah, in 1782.9,10,11 Jesse A. Offutt Sr. married Obedience Bacon, daughter of John Bacon III and Obediance Hobson, on August 8, 1782 at Columbia County, GA, USA.12,4 Jesse A. Offutt Sr. was by Executive Order of Jan 20, 1791(published in the Jan 24, 1791 issue) listed under the 7th Company: Jesse Offutt, Captain on January 24, 1791 at Columbia County, GA, USA.13 He was a witness on May 2, 1803 to the deed executed in at Columbia County, GA, USA, for a tract of land in the same county.14 He died on June 4, 1819 at Richmond County, GA, USA, at age 59.4 He died on June 4, 1819 at Columbia County, GA, USA, at age 59.12 He died in 1830 at Richmond County, GA, USA.15,16 He On this date I merged the two Jesse's together, based on dates and information from other Offutt researchers I feel that they were one in the same. on February 5, 2000. He Children for this marriage taken from a pension application. Cassandra his daughter filed an application that was rejected for fraud. The basis for the rejection seems to be that two different people were involved in filling out the claim paperwork. Though the application has rejected for fraud, Jesse was in fact a Revolution Soldier and was issued a land grant for 278 1/2 acres. This Jesse supposedly served in the S. C. Militia. Have a copy of the Abstracts of Revoultionary War Pension Files, p. 2531. Mrs. Vivian Mettee has that Jesse served as a Georgia Refugee Soldier under Wm. Candler, Col.. Warrant 1373. (Roster of the Revolution by Lucian Lamar Knight.)17
