[S5651] Essex Cty., MA Deed Bk. 157: Deed dated December 18, 1781, between Nathan Offutt and Jonathan Cook to grant, sell and convey lands that were devised to Rachel Cook by her father James Cook. In the deed Rachel is listed as being deceased, and Nathan, in his capacity as Guardian of the minor children, named in the deed as Rachel, John, Nathan, Mary and Elizabeth. Deed was recorded in Essex County Massachusetts December 13, 1793. I have no idea why it took 12 years to be recorded. Since James is listed as deceased along with his daughter Rachel he must have died bfore December 18, 1781.
