Keerns, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Keerns of Chicago, was solemnized before the candle lit altar of St. James Episcopal church at 12:30 p. m., December 21. Rev. J. Presley Pound, rector, officiated. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a blue Harris tweed suit with brown accessories. Her flowers were a shoulder arrangement of pink Briarcliffe roses and Scotch heather tied with a silver-threaded white ribbon. She carried a white prayer book, Miss Elizabeth Offutt, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and wore a light blue crepe dress and matching felt hat. Her corsage was Better Times roses and adiantum fern. Myron Ryther of Macon acted as best man. Miss Gretna Spokesfield played a five-minute organ interlude before the ceremony. The bride is a graduate of Excelsior Springs High School and Chillicothe Business College. For the past three years she has been with the Bauer and Black Company of Chicago in the personnel office. The groom is a graduate of Englewood High School. He holds an honorary appointment as 2nd Lieutenant in the Illinois National Guard. A wedding dinner was held at the Jefferson Hotel immediately after the ceremony, with members of the families and bridal party as guests. After a short wedding trip, the couple will make their home at 5465 Kainbark in Chicago."
