She was a member of the Baptist church . Her husband Benjmin Perry, died in 1935 and a son Elmer preceded her in death in November 1946. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Walter E. Rees of Fairview, two brothers Daniel Offutt of Miami Florida and William Offutt of Richmond; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral rites will be conducted by the Rev. Walter Crawley Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Moster mortuary here. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.

Dead After Illness of One Week From Pneumonia. - BURIAL MONDAY AFTERNOON -William Offutt, 56 years old, a well known resident of this city, died shortly after noon today at his home in East Sixth street, after an illness lasting one week. Mr. Offutt was taken ill last Saturday with a cold, which developed into pneumonia. His death coming as it did, was a great shock to his family and a large circle of friends. Mr. Offutt had been a resident of this city for the past thirty-five years and was a highly respected citizen. He was one of a family of ten children. The last death in the family occurred ten years ago yesterday at which time his brother died. Besides ·a widow he is survived by three daughters and one son. Mrs. Edna Dagler, the Misses Arleigh and Rema. and Paul; also three brothers, the Rev. S. S. Offutt, John Offutt of Linton. T. M. Offutt of this city, and two sisters, Mrs. James Hollett and Mrs. Mary Bursott. The funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at one-thirty o'clock at the residence. Burial will take place in East Hill cemetery."

[S5165] The Rushville Republican, October 31, 1932, Pg. 3, States that Mrs. Eva Offutt, well known local woman, died at her home on East Sixth Street at 9:15 Saturday night following a paralytic stroke suffered last Monday. She was 71 years old. The deceased was born May 7, 1861, and had lived all her life in Rush County. She was the widow of W. W. Offutt, who died several years ago. Obituary also lists survivors; son Paul Offutt of Aurora, Ind, two daughters, Mrs. Arleigh Jeffrey and Mrs. Rema McGinnis, both of Connorsville, and four grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Edna Dagler Kolb, and a son Guy Offutt, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at the residence at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon in the charge of the Rev. C. I. Stephenson, pastor of the Main Street Christian church, with burial in East Hill cemetery.

" BACK TO THE OLD HOME. - Wayward Young Guy Offutt Returns to His Mother, a Corpse. - A year ago last August young Guy Offutt ran away from a prosperous, well to do home at Rushville, Ind. Last night he went home to a mother who had long waited for her wayward boy's return-but he went cold and lifeless, dead. His fifteen months of wandering ended yesterday with his death at a St. Joseph's hospital, far away from everyone who loved him, save his father, a wealthy business man, who hastened to his son's bedside when the news came of his illness-the first news of the boy for more then a year. The wayward boy's death almost prostrated the father yesterday afternoon. He sat in a corner of the Mondamin lobby, alone, with tears coursing down his cheeks. "I came 800 miles to get my boy, who'd been away from us so long," he said, disconsolately, "and I told his mother that I'd bring him home with me-well, I'm going to take him back, but in a box." Before his death young Offutt told his story to a physician who attended him at St, Joseph's hospital. He admitted running away, but he did it in a spirit of fun and adventure. His parents had been good to him and given him every indulgence that their moderate wealth could afford. But he joined a crowd of wild companions on a train to Chicago, unknown to his father or mother. There he became ashamed of his conduct, and he went on further west, roaming here and there until he landed in Sioux City, without money and without friends, six months ago. He worked at various tasks, but finally he became a porter at the Chicago house and was there until he became sick with typhoid fever several weeks ago. A physician found him seriously ill and ordered his removal to the hospital. Then the young man told of his home for the first time, and his father was notified of his son's illness. As fast as steam could bring him, he came, but his son had been ill too long, and the fever claimed him soon after his father arrived."

[S5165] The Rushville Republican, October 31, 1932, Pg. 3, States that Mrs. Eva Offutt, well known local woman, died at her home on East Sixth Street at 9:15 Saturday night following a paralytic stroke suffered last Monday. She was 71 years old. The deceased was born May 7, 1861, and had lived all her life in Rush County. She was the widow of W. W. Offutt, who died several years ago. Obituary also lists survivors; son Paul Offutt of Aurora, Ind, two daughters, Mrs. Arleigh Jeffrey and Mrs. Rema McGinnis, both of Connorsville, and four grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Edna Dagler Kolb, and a son Guy Offutt, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at the residence at 2:30 Tuesday afternoon in the charge of the Rev. C. I. Stephenson, pastor of the Main Street Christian church, with burial in East Hill cemetery.
