Frazier was a son of Alna Minafee Frazier and Ora P. Cary. However as my research progressed it became more and more difficult to believe that, as Ora was born in September of 1875 and didn't marry Alna until September of 1892. Recently I was contacted by a person researching this line and was informed that Boyd was instead raised by Alna as if he was his own son, but he was instead a son of an unknown father and Lucy Smith, Alna's second wife.

Frazier, a life-long resident of the Greenfield area, died Monday at 11:58 a.m. in Boyd Memorial Hospital. He was 65. Mr. Frazier, who was a member of Alton Carpenters Local 377 was born at Wrights, July 13, 1892, a son of the late Alna and Lucy Smith Frazier. He was married December 21, 1912 to Grace Pembrook, in Carlinville. For the past 21 years he had resided in Greenfield. Surviving are his wife: a son Edwin Frazier of Greenfield: three daughters, Mrs. M. Frank (Irene) Reed and Mrs. Louis (Wanda) Meng, Greenfield, and Mrs. John (Helen) Ewing, Rockbridge: three sisters, Mrs. Louis Short and Mrs. Glenn Rafferty , Wrights and Mrs. Warren Barr of independence, Mo., three brothers, James, Royal and William Frazier all of White Hall: 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Frazier was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, Wrights, and funeral services Wednesday at 2 p.m. will be conducted in the church by the Rev. Floyd A. Camp. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at Shields Memorial from 2 to 4 p.m., and 7 to 9 p.m., today." While there is a great deal of good information in this obituary, some caution is warranted in regards to his data and place of birth, and his mother. In his father's obituary it is related that A. M. Frazier didn't come to the Wrights area until 1896 and he then married Lucy Smith. Since Boyd was born in 1892, this would preclude a birthplace of Wrights, as well as Lucy Smith Frazier being his mother. In the WWII draft card his date of birth is listed as July 13, 1892 in Rights. However the WWI draft registration card has his birth as July 13, 1893 in Wrights, Illinois. As such since his grave marker as 1892 I am using it as his year of birth. The place of birth I am for now leaving blank.
