The Will of MORDECAI BURGESS OFFUTT 1744-1814

To dau. Jane Thrift, negroes "Mary and her suckling child called Jane, Teny, Dick, and Grace, as also Four heads of Hogs."

To dau. Mary Offutt, negroes Judy, Jack and Frank; also Four heads of Hogs, two breeding Ewes, two breeding Cows, and one good feather bed and furniture.

To dau. Clarissa Offutt, negroes Feby, Lartus, and Martin; also four head of hogs, two breeding Ewes, two breeding Cows, and one good Feather Bed and furniture.

To daus. Mary and Clarissa, "Waggon and four Horses" to be kept on the plantation for their use, but should either of them die before marriage, in that case, the surviving one to have the use thereof, and in case either of them should marry, then the said wagon and team can be equally divided by them.

To daus. Jane Thrift, Mary Offutt and Clarissa Offutt, and Absalom Thrift, "a sufficiency of claim for the support of them and their families for one year".

"all the residue of my personal estate equally divided amongst them".

'My two youngest daughters Mary and Clarissa Offutt and son-in-law Absolom Thrift, his wife and family shall live together and have the whole of my lands and plantation until my two daughters aforesaid or either of them shall marry. In that case, the remaining daughter single to go with said Thrift, and family shall continue to have the use ..." etc,

I will and desire that Colmore who lived with me to have one-twelfth of the tobacco .......
