Will of Jane Magruder, widow, 7 Aug 1783 - 4 July 1787, Montg. Co.

In the name of God Amen I Jane Magruder widow of Montgomery County in the State of Maryland and being of perfect mind and memory thanks to Almighty God I do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament and dispose of my Estate in the following manner viz. -

I give and bequeath to my son Archibald my Negro woman - Phillis and her increase to him and his Heirs for ever and also I give my said son Archibald all my title, Claim and Interest to all lands and personal Estate to him and his Heirs for ever -

I likewise appoint my said son my sole Executor of this my last will and Testament and I do hereby revoke disannull & make void all former wills and Testaments by me hereafter made

In witness where of I the said Jane Magruder have set my hand and seal this the seventh day of August Anno Domini One thousand seven hundred Eighty three

Montgomery County July 4th 1787. Then came John Baker one of the subscribing Witnesses to the within last Will End Testament of Jane Magruder and made oath on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God that he did see the Testator herein named sign and seal this Will and that he heard her publish pronounce and declare the same to be her last Will and Testament and at the same time of her so doing she was to the best of his apprehension of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding and that he and the other two subscribing witnesses subscribed their names as witnesses to this will in the presence and at the request of the Testator and in the presence of each other
