This is the Aunt Mary that Claud Offutt frequently spoke of. She lived at 1522 33rd ST, N.W. This was the original family home since she was a spinster. When she died, there was no will (Margaret Sasnett). Her belongings were listed & priced by an auctioneer. Family was given first option. Grace Smith bought a birdcage windsor chair for $10 (Margaret has this). Mamie Offutt bought a marble topped drysink which Kathie Thomas has.

Document below is from Kathie Wycoff

Dorothy O. Thomas remembers her visiting on 307 K St. N.E. She would stay for
10 days to 2 weeks at a time. She remembers her bringing her hair around in
front and brushing it. It was to her knees and she was a tall woman. It
was auburn even then. She used to wear it in two sykies on the side. These
were two braids wrapped around in circles.
The marble washstand in Kathleen T. Wycoff's kitchen was purchased from
her estate by Charlie and Mamie Offutt. When Dorothy O. Thomas moved to
Brandywine she was looking for one and Aunt Mamie offered it to her. Kathleen
also has a black ostrich feathered fan framed and several other fans and combs
which belonged to "Aunt Mary."
Tombstone reads Mary Grace Offutt 1846 - 1939. It is taken that the 1846
year is correct although some records say 1848. This makes Charles and Mary
Grace born in the same year. Since there are no dates, this is still assumed
to be correct. The 1860 census has her at age 12 which would be 1848 prox.
