Was Vice-President of Cleveland-Cliffs Iron but his retreat was Mountain Glen Farm where he developed riding trails, fields and ponds. His interest in land conservation led him to donate the "Big Creek" land to the state of Ohio. It was the genesis of the Geauga County Park system. He also donated"Stebbins Gulch" to the Holden Arboretum and established a foundation to support these and other charitable interests. His love of his class at Yale led to annual reunions and the locally famous HYP Picnic.
