Margaret Hogan, #42 - new text file

There is come descrepancy between Mary and Margaret Hogan. Ann Baird Day has
Mary as the sister and Grace Offutt has Mary as the Grandmother. Both stories
are from Grace Offutt. We have taken Margaret as the mother and we have
taken the liberty to change this story that was dictated to Dorothy Offutt by
Grace Offutt Smith. "Martin Renehan was born in Dublin, Ireland - he attended
college there, sounds like "Minute College" the way Aunt Grace pronounces it -
spelling may be off. He was a Professor of Botany and was called "Professor"
as well as "a country gentleman." He had an acquaintance in Ireland - a girl
named (Margaret) Hogan. (Margaret) boarded a boat for America and was
surprised when Martin Renehan walked up to her - she did not know he was on
board. They were three months on the water. I don't know how long afterward
they were married but the knot was tied in America.
When Aunt Grace lived on 8th St. and Ken. Ave., S. E. she was frequently
visited by a Father Cheetham, Catholic priest (here again spelling is
questioned). He was a double cousin (so she says) on the Renehan side. She
says that his family has a complete history of the family tree. She thinks
that Dorothy Dowdey's family may have some leads on this.
