I do not have copies of these records, and there are other records. Since Middleton Beall, Verlinda Dent, and Lucy Offutt were children of Robert Beall, I concluded that the only way that they could be nephew and nieces of Sarah Offutt was that one of Sarah's sisters married Robert Beall. Middleton Beall was still a minor at his father's death and several of the daughters were married, including Verlinda [m. John Dent] and Lucy [who married Zephaniah Offutt, had Rezin Beall Offutt, and was already deceased by the time of Robert's wi11]. So I thought that all of Robert's children had the same mother, who must be Sarah Offutt's sister Hannah.
Since Robert Beall's wife was Hannah, I was looking for the wife of the William Offutt, father of James, George H. and Betsey [hoping it would be Verlinda]. I think Sarah Offutt's inventory probably answers that.
