Per the 1900 census, he and Georgia had been married "0" years but Georgia put it as 1/2 year. Edward and his parents are born in Kentucky. They have no children yet. Mr. Cooley would never talk to Dicy about when he was married to Georgia. He did ask about her. He also sent Dicy Wycoff little necklaces or hankies on Christmas. He said he felt as close to her as if she were also one of his own daughters. Dicy's father, John Shelton, used to ask Dicy when she was going to marry "Eddie" because of the letters he used to send to her. Approximately 20-24 years older than Georgia Allie Shelton depending on which record you use for Georgia. He was "hated" by his father-in-law, Hiram because of different "politics." Georgia lived with him before they were married. It appears they got married when she became pregant. There were no children for the June 1890 census. He wrote to Dicy Wycoff (she has the letters) and signed them D. E. Cooley. He was called "Eddie."
