Will of Mary Offutt 1770-1852

I, Mary Offutt of Scott County and state of Kentucky being weak of body but of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following

First-I give and devise to my son U. M. Offutt the twelve      acres of land purchased by me of Alfred Ho -------. I also give and bequeath to my son Urias M. and at his death      to his son James William the following articles of ---- to wit - one tankard one ---- and one cow now in my possession.

Second-To Mary A. Offutt, daughter of Isaiah and Rebecca Offutt I bequeath one seventh part of all the remainder of my effects less one hundred dollars. Also two hundred and sixty nine dollars and thirty five cents be deducted, which amount I have recently given to Rebecca my granddaughter. Rebecca shall have the use of all the property given to her daughter during her life time.

Third-To Dr James S. Offutt I bequeath one seventh of my estate less two hundred and thirteen dollars which amount I have recently given to him in money.

Fourth - To James P. and Robt S. Gray, I bequeath two sevenths of my effects and in addition two beds and fumiture of those now in my house - the notes drawn on them now in my possession are not to be collected.
--- part of my estate as my other grandchildren have all received similar sums for which I hold their receipts. In the event of either James or Roberts death without children the other shall be his heir

Fifth - To each of the following persons also I bequeath one seventh of my property to wit Ann M., Mary E., and James William - children of my son U. M. Offutt

And I hereby appoint my son U.M. Offutt executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and annulling all former will and testaments and devises made by me - In Testimony whereof I now set my hand and affix my seal this 5 day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and fifty one

CODICIL

Since publishing the above my last Will and Testament I have paid one to my grand daughter Rebecca M. Offutt two hundred and seventy dollars in part of the legacy bequeathed to her during her life time I have also delivered to James P. and Robert S. Gray the beds and furniture above specified - the design of this codicil is to set forth these facts

In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this thirteenth of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty one
