Sophrina Offutt was married to Alfred Douglas Offutt and had three offspring - A. M. Offutt ( my grandfather), M. D. Offutt (who lived in Scott County and was the president of the First National Bank either in Georgetown or Midway, Ky.), C. D. Offutt moved to Jackson, Miss and became a very wealthy Real Estate Broker. He owned several pieces of property and a couple of hotels in Jackson. Neither M.D. or C.D. married. Only A. M. Offutt married and he married a woman from Covington, Ky ( I do not know her name) Divorced her) and then married Sarah Hugh Offutt. Her brother was the president of the First National Bank of Corbin, Ky. Sarah and A. M. Offutt had two sons. Manley Hugh Offutt, I do not have date of his death at hand but he died in Cincinnati, Ohio in the middle 1980's. Also a son James Alfred Offutt (my father) he died in Cincinnati, Ohio in Jan 1967.

M. D. Offutt was related to A. M. Offutt as a brother.

M. D. Offutt was a recluse. After he left the Bank, he lived for awhile in a one room school house. However, the mail and books and things that he saved moved him out and he live in a yellow school bus until he died. He had check from the government dated in the 1910's, 1920's, 1930's, 1940's and the 1950's that were never cashed. There was a bag of gold coins that were in the bus that burned when he died that melted together. There was a footlocker full of 3 cent stamps. There was a family tree (the female side of the family that traced their roots back to the Dupuy's of France and then on back to England. The Family Tree is listed in its entirety in an issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine. The date of which I no longer remember. But I have read it. The Family Tree is located today in Allen town, Pa.
